The winding roads around Cassis proved to be the perfect spot for this fun photoshoot.

As well as landscape photos of the estate itself, the domaine wanted photos of the barrels, the shop, and the estate staff.

I was commissioned by Vincent Kubiak, architect and designer, to take a series of images of a restaurant interior at Les Terraces du Port, Marseille. The restaurant specialised in sea food and Provencal dishes.
Whilst it was clearly an interior photography project, the images were to showcase various aspects of the designer’s work such as the soundproofing, and the bespoke lighting.
The images were compiled into a photo book.
Sidecar Fun

Hotel 96 – Social Media Photography
The Hotel 96 is a boutique hotel in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, Provence.
The hotel has a strong presence on social media – Facebook and Instagram – and therefore requires regular fresh content for its followers. I am delighted to work with the hotel to provide this monthly photographic and and short format video content.
The hotel has a family feel to it; with every bedroom decorated in a unique style, home-made breakfast, and an inviting pool and garden. A key component of the my photography for the hotel’s social media is to convey this feeling to the audience.
I worked with the hotel management to develop a number of themes for the photos and videos; for example the rooms in both wide angle and detail, the garden, the pool, the art, the breakfast, and the changing of the seasons.
When viewed as a whole, the photos and videos on the Facebook and instagram pages tell the full story of the hotel.
All the photos are sized for the internet and have one of the hotel logos in the corner.
Tourism is a key component of the economy here in Provence and the south of France. Photographs and videos are essential for tourism related businesses to tell their story and gain customers.
To date I have delivered over 1000 photographs and videos for the hotel. The content has successfully increased the hotel’s social media following and helped the hotel to develop its business.
Environmentally Sustainable Creche
I was commissioned by EnvirobatBDM to photograph a series of images of environmentally sustainable buildings. The images were to be published in a book on award winning sustainable buildings in Provence.
Unfortunately the building was experiencing some “teething problems” such as the vegetation on planted roof and living wall having died due to lack of water.
It was also probably the hottest day of the year, so we were all struggling a bit!
Sports bike
These are the 125cc and 300cc variants of the new Orcal sports bikes.
Eco School
I was commissioned by EnvirobatBDM to take a series pictures for a book which they were preparing to showcase the environmentally sustainable buildings on which they had worked.
The buildings were spread all over the region; this particular project was a school in Guillestre, Provence.
The photographs needed to highlight the architecture behind the recently built environmentally sustainable extension, and I wanted to show how the architectural forms fitted the mountainous landscape.
Many thanks to the school and library staff for their warm welcome – especially as it was the last day of term before the summer holiday began!
PERL-B Night Shoot
Sustainable Cities
We are heading for a biodiversity crisis – the number of species on Earth is declining at an alarming rate and the consequences for humanity could be dire.
The lack of variety of species in cities is of particular concern as developers concrete over the last urban green spaces, and areas with a wide diversity of species are replanted with a single species of tree chosen by urban planners.
Natural Solutions is searching for digital solutions to this biodiversity crisis, and is developing a range of digital tools to allow urban planners, ecologists, and citizen scientists to geolocalise, catalogue, and interact with the biodiversity of their cities.
The team at Natural Solutions challenged me to deliver a set of images for their communications campaign which showed what ‘biodiversity’ could mean in an urban context.
This urban biodiversity could have been species chosen by man – for example trees planted in parks – or could be plant species which have naturally found their niche in the urban eco-system.
The Eco-Friendly Lifestyle
We don’t all need to drive petrol cars – especially if we live in a city.
TOTEM-mobi wanted to show via their social media channels that their electric Renault Twizy cars enabled an active and social lifestyle without burning fossil fuels or the cost of running a car.
We wanted, to show that the Twizy has the ability escape the city for weekend adventures as well as travel around the urban environment with ease for a busy social life.
Dynamic Office Space
We spend a lot of time at work, so our work environment is very important.
Interior designer Emmanuelle Tadesco, the representative for the south of France of the Union Francophone des Décorateurs d’Intérieur, asked me to photograph some key elements of her design work for an office space in central Marseille.
These design elements included the offices of the company directors, the spaces where clients are met, the communal kitchens, and details such as the furniture choices.
TOTEM Mobi
TOTEM Mobi is a rapidly growing start-up which provides shared, low-impact, transport solutions. The company is based in Marseille, Provence.
I was delighted to work with Grégoire at TOTEM Mobi to take a series of pictures which were used in social media and internet communications for the brand.
How does it work? Using an app you geolocalise the nearest parked Renault Twizy, then you unlock it using your smartphone. At the end of your journey you simply park the Twizy in a safe place – job done!
We shot two types of image – the Twizy in action using in-camera motion blur (no photoshop effects!), and the the Twizy in various location in Marseille and at the coast.

Sporting Photoshoot
I met Jord whilst photographing an event in Marseille. We arranged to do a photoshoot to create a set of images for his modelling portfolio that showed that he could do ‘action’, not just static modelling.
We did the photoshoot in an abandoned fort in the Calanques on the outskirts of Marseille, overlooking the bay and the Ile de Frioul.
O’Brady’s Irish Pub – Social Media Content
O’Brady’s Irish Pub is the oldest Irish pub in Marseille, France. It has a loyal clientele and a strong social media following; Facebook is its main communication channel.
The storytelling for the pub revolves around the themes of the interior and decoration, the live music, and the food and drink.
All the images are delivered sized for the internet, and have the pub logo. The photos of the interior and deco are in black & white to build on the traditional pub theme, whilst the photos of the food and drink are in colour.
The photos are shot ‘live’ – none of the photos are set-up. This gives an honest picture of the pub, which the clients appreciate as it reminds them of why they visit the pub and the good times they have had there.
The purpose of this kind of photography is not to take one perfect image, but rather to create a collection of complementary photographs – the story being told through the collection of photographs as a whole.
To date I have delivered over 1000 photographs and short videos to O’Brady’s. The images have been used on the pub’s facebook page to communicate to their followers, and to develop the business.

I was thrilled to work with Isabelle Lemoine to photograph her design work for the entrance to an office block – which given the number of people passing through the foyer proved to be harder than expected!
With a bit of patience we were able to capture a series of images which showed her work in the best light.
